When you visit the shelter and see a companion animal that you would like to adopt, we will ask you to fill out an application for adoption. Applications are completed and processed the same day. If you complete the application ahead of visiting, please open the application file, save to your computer, complete and save the application to your computer, and email the completed application file to Elmbrookhs@ebhs.org.
We ask that all family members meet the adoptable animal prior to the adoption being approved. If you are adopting a dog and have another dog in your household, we ask that you bring in your dog to meet their potential new companion.
We do check home ownership or seek landlord approval as part of the adoption process. Home ownership can usually be verified the same day and we attempt to verify landlord approval same day.
“The Right Start Seminar” offered by our organization is included with every dog adoption. To learn more about this seminar, click here.
