YOUTH VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We have recently started a new youth volunteer program.  If you are interested in helping animals and want to gain more experience with dogs, cats and small animals, this may be for you!  If you are planning on making a career in the animal field or just love animals, here's how you can help out.

We are looking for 10 - 15 year olds accompanied by parent who can dedicate a minimum of 1 hour per week at a scheduled time every week.  These opportunities require a minimum of 4 hours per month at the shelter working with the animals. Youths, working with their parent, will be exposed to a variety of shelter tasks while helping us complete daily tasks to help care for the animals. Volunteers will also be able to socialize with cats. Volunteer parent/youth teams, once trained, can also participate in fundraising, parades, Adopt-a-thons, and other events, as well as give out treats, fill up empty water bowls, help with cleaning, collect donations, and more.

If youth and parents are interested in volunteering, please complete the volunteer application.  If there are openings, you will then be contacted with a schedule of times and opportunities available.

We currently have openings on weekends mornings and weekday afternoons.

NOTE: Youth volunteer MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.

WE DO WORK WITH COMMUNITY SERVICE VOLUNTEERS.
